GeoArches treats coastal, riverine, and deltaic landscapes as records of environmental change, work, settlement, institutions, and lifeways.
The premise
Environment and society are made together.
A shoreline, marsh, river, or floodplain is never merely the setting for history. Its form, rhythms, and limits shape what people can do; human decisions, in turn, alter the landscape inherited by others.
The director
Reed Goodman
GeoArches is directed by Reed Goodman, an anthropologically trained geoarchaeologist and Assistant Professor of Environmental Social Science at Clemson University.
